One bike for the road out of the city and the dirt once you get there. Shimano GRX, clearance for 45 mm tyres, and enough mounts to carry everything you need for a weekend.
Gravel geometry sits between a road bike and a mountain bike β a slightly slacker head angle and a longer wheelbase make it stable on loose surfaces without feeling sluggish on tarmac. The GRX groupset uses a clutch rear derailleur, so the chain stays quiet and stays on when the surface gets rough.
There are mounts for a rack, mudguards, three bottles and a top-tube bag. Riders take this bike to work through the week and load it up for the road to Garni or Lake Sevan at the weekend β and it does both without complaint.
